About Us

Decades of Banking, Investment Management and Technology Experience

History

Since 1991, we have provided quality services, solutions and products that make our clients more competitive and successful.

Our name is derived from Unified Application Environments. We are not a technology company with a Financial Services vertical market offering—we are Financial Services professionals who help our clients capitalize on the value of technology.

We work with our clients to maximize the value of their legacy systems by integrating new technology that is being developed every day, by UNAPEN and other software vendors.

He leads UNAPEN’s professional services and product development team, directs all UNAPEN engagements involving business strategy, due diligence and industry best practices, and serves as a senior advisor for transition management teams charged with the task of guiding post-merger companies into new organizational structures, policies and technologies.

Before co-founding UNAPEN, Joe held senior management and founding partner positions in two other technology firms that focused on the Financial Services Community and provided trade order management, accounting and modeling products and services for money-centered banks, brokerages and individual money managers both in the US and abroad.

Joe’s industry experience began in 1984 at Franklin Companies in Boston where he rose to the position of Senior Vice-President of Operations and played a key role in the firm’s reorganization, rollout of social screening technology and national expansion. Now Joe frequently speaks at industry conferences on a broad range of contemporary topics. Joe holds a BA in Finance and Comparative Sociology from The University of Puget Sound.

Joan (Eckland) Walker is a co-founder of UNAPEN and a member of the Board of Directors. Her primary positions are Treasurer and liaison to corporate counsel.

Prior to co-founding UNAPEN, Joan served as an independent consultant for Dreyfus, a New York based mutual fund company, reviewing and documenting changes to operational workflows and system enhancements. The team was responsible for the conversion of three million Dreyfus mutual fund accounts from Bank of New York to TSSG.
